Welcome to Focused Foundations! My name is Holly Lynch, and I am an Occupational Therapist dedicated to helping teens and adults thrive in the areas of life that matter most to them. With over 20 years of experience, I’ve supported clients of all ages—from infancy to adulthood.

I offer holistic, neurodiversity-affirming Occupational Therapy services and Executive Function Coaching for teens and adults across South Carolina. My approach is built on authentic connection, inclusivity, and individualized care, ensuring that each client feels seen, valued, and supported.

Whether you’re looking to build confidence at school or work, navigate social situations with ease, strengthen independent living skills, create balanced routines, prevent Autistic burnout, or better understand your nervous system and sensory needs—I’m here to help you cultivate the skills for a fulfilling, joyful life.

Who would benefit from this therapy?
Occupational therapy is a great resource for anyone who would like to understand and improve their regulation, participate in daily tasks with greater ease, or gain skills in areas like organization, time management, or task completion. My services can be particularly beneficial for autistic teens and adults as well as those with anxiety, ADHD, chronic illness, sensory challenges, or a trauma history. Focused Foundations is a LGBTQIA+ affirming and trauma informed practice.
What is the difference between OT and talk therapy?
Mental health counseling can be life-changing! Occupational therapy has it's roots in mental health, starting from the 1800's. However, in occupational therapy, rather than reprocess past challenges, or trauma or work on specific relationship goals, we are focused on functional participation of daily life skills. Our focus may be on topics such as:
-
How to change the sensory impacts of tasks or environments so you can participate with greater comfort
-
How to create manageable schedules by breaking down large projects or tasks so you can not only start, but complete the things that you want and need to accomplish
-
How to find and use tools, technology and strategies that actually work for you as an individual
-
How to parent your children with greater connection and fulfillment, amid the chaos and overwhelm that comes with raising a family
-
How to show up in your relationship with a regulated nervous system to avoid common triggers and challenges that continue to pop up between you and a loved one
-
How to move forward and find felt-safety when you feel as though your nervous system is in a constant state of overwhelm or stuck in a freeze response
-
How to accomplish tasks when you feel depleted or in a constant state of exhaustion
-
How to relate to others and create fulfilling relationships and friendships without burnout
